Pre-Tan Prep
- Waxing, manicures, pedicures, and facials should be done at least 24-48 hours before your spray tanning appointment. Dove soap is also NOT recommended to use before or after a spray tan. If you must get nails done after your appointment, touch base with me.
- Moisturize! Dry skin is the enemy of an even, natural sunless tan so you must moisturize your skin leading up to the tan as well as afterwards.
- Exfoliate, shower and shave at least 24 hours before your appointment. It is not recommended to shower right before your appointment(if you must, then do it at least 3 hours prior). Please try to shower the evening before or if you have an evening appointment, shower in the morning. If you’re an athlete and have practice prior to an appointment, message me and I’ll let you know what the best thing to do is.
- On the day of your appointment, you want to have clean skin with nothing on it, so refrain from using moisturizers, perfumes, lotions, oils, etc. that may cause a barrier between your skin and the airbrush tanning solution. I do have makeup wipes to take off makeup and deodorant.
- Bring loose, dark clothing to change into after your spray tan is finished. Suggestions: sweatpants, long sleeve shirt or sweatshirt, t-shirt, etc.Flip flops are good to wear as well. If it’s raining, please bring a loose jacket and an umbrella. Do not wear tight fitting shoes such as boots or Uggs. Any kind of tight pants aren’t suggested either.
- Please call or email me with any additional questions that you might have. Phone- 717-317-3397 or bronzedbyerin@gmail.com
- I provide disposable thongs and a hair net for you to use. It is up to you what you would like to wear for the spray. Clients wear thongs, underwear, bikinis, bathing suits, go topless, etc. It’s really what is most comfortable for you. Most just wear the disposable thongs. I do have disposable pasties if that makes you feel more comfortable. Methods of Payment- Venmo, AppleCash, Check or Cash
Post-Tan Prep
- You must refrain from showering or getting wet (no working out, getting caught in the rain, etc.) prior to your initial rinse.
- Please be sure to follow the time given to you in terms of when to rinse. If you go past the recommended time, it can tend to look very unnatural. I recommend following the timeline I give to you.
- For your first rinse post-tan, you should not use any soaps, shampoos, etc. You also do not want to get your hair wet, shave pee in the initial rinse. I recommend waiting 24 hours to take a regular shower with soaps and shampoos.
- For the life of your tan, I recommend using a Paraben and Sulfate-Free body wash.
- Additionally, during your first rinse post-tan, it will look like you are losing your tan, but it’s just the bronzer. This is normal, so don’t be alarmed. It will gradually go back to a beautiful tan. Trust the process- it takes 24 hours to fully develop.
- Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize! Once you’ve had your first shower, you will need to moisturize your skin. Continue this daily as you need to keep your skin moisturized to prolong your tan. I recommend moisturizing twice a day. If you’re able to invest in a good lotion, I recommend it. It should be paraben free. Hempz is a good brand. I have several options in my shop as well, including Hempz.
- If you’re going on vacation, the best sunscreens to use are Sun Bum, Coola and Alba Botanica. Do not use spray sunscreens- they really wreak havoc on a spray tan. Pools, hot tubs and the ocean can cause a spray tan to fade. There are some techniques you can use to help it stay if you go in a pool or the ocean, but a hot tub can really ruin a spray tan. I highly recommend buying a tan extender lotion if you’re going on vacation! It helps prolong your tan! I sell some that are wonderful! Sweat Resistant is a great option for vacationing and going in the water or hot sun, etc.
